The heartbeats in the background... 😱. Sad enough that poor Wendy was married to Jack. The one burning question I always had is: Did Jack have sons in his past lives that also had The Shining. I thought this was just going to be a bad sequel to the shining. Boy was I wrong, this was really good 👍. Nah he doesnt know magic he knows the force, General Kenobi infact. This was one of the coolest, most satisfying scenes in the movie. The Dentist and The Dentist 2, please. Word of a warning: the ending is literally painful to watch. Okay I was already impressed but then they played the THEME at the end and I had a spasm.

Anyone excited for Doctor Sleep tomorrow. When you learn about Kings past, particularly battles with addiction, its not hard to see why me made jack sympathetic and particularly didnt like how Kubrick made him more evil. A part of king wants to remove the agency of his past and the harm he likely inflicted on his own son because for him it felt like possession, but Kubrick presents this as an outsider seeing a man harm his family and thats why King sees it as “cold”. The same thing can be said about “IT” in the way that you could make that whole movie about bad childhoods and sexual abuse of you reveal at the end that there was no supernatural force and the children imagined it as such because you cant battle a society that looks the other way when a bully is beating the shit out of you, but blame it all on a monster and maybe you can kill the monster.

I loved this movie. I am a huge fan of the shinning. always have been one of my childhood favorite horror movie. Hopefully another one comes out soon. Is it just me who thinks Jack Nicholson in his prime can play as Wolverine or Logan and btw he somehow looks a bit like Leonardo De Caprio but more savage looking. Great movie. Meanders a bit too much at first I think and I didn't know where things were headed (hadn't seen any trailers) so for me the murder of baseball boy was quite disturbing to be honest. Almost wanted to leave the cinema. (Hope murdering young white boys isn't going to be the norm in Hollywood. Terminator Dark Fate had the same, released in the same week. But after all that things got much better. Once back at Overlook this movie got really good and I enjoyed it. The soundtrack helped a lot there.
McGregor great. Really hated the Rebecca Ferguson character so she probably did her job well as the main villain. Supporting cast all good as was the lead young actress.
Worthy sequel to The Shining but it can never be quite as good as some of the isolated atmosphere just isn't there, it gets very close though.
Mike Flanagan is a good horror story teller (loved the House on Haunted Hill series) but maybe drop the disturbing stuff with kids I think and his stuff would be timeless.

I'm normally not a horror movie fan but yes, I would love to recommend this one is Great. Seriously. He gets absorbed into the overlook hotel its that simple why do people even debate this. The movie and book are completely different stories as anybody who watched Stanley Kubrick explain would know. And it's also why stephen king hated it. Half of the movie never really took place it was jack writing his horror novel because he was getting cabin fever. You can tell what's real and what's in the book by a few indicators such as furniture and when it's missing and the typewriter jack is using. I'd have to watch a little more to see where it breaks off but if I remember correctly there is nothing supernatural to the movie which is why king disliked it so much. Idk how this is going to directly follow considering in the movie there was really no shine. It was Jack's imagination and Danny's coping mechanism from being molested by his father. Unless they ignore what the film was about and pretend it directly follows the book I dont see how this will work. Although I'm excited.

I just watched the movie and it is AWESOME! I hope people appreciate it as it is. I enjoyed every minute of it. There were even moments in the movie where Ewan looked and even sounded like Jack Nicholson in the Shining. Truly a masterpiece. Personally, I am so glad that had acknowledged that author Stephen King is definitely NOT a fan of the Stanley Kubrick film version of The Shining. But I am sure that NOT ALL people were fans of the film as well. I know that the moments in the 1980 film were scary, but they were not what Mr. King had envisioned in his novel. I also find it so sad that Kubrick NEVER apologized for having made the movie as a way of turning his back on Mr. King and presented an alternative horror film that suited only Kubrick.

This cinema is better at its own way. Yet it could be better with out expecting the shining level in it. This is no horror film. More of a thriller. Anyone else hear the background music and think dead by daylight. I'll give the movie a 8.5 out of 10 the ending for me is perfect cause by danny going back to the overlook and literally free all of his demon and put an end to it is perfect and not only he destroyed the overlook like his father did and being abra guide and guardian angel just like halaran its a bit dissapointing to see he died but i think it was a great end for his life almost his entire life is haubted by the overlook spirit and trauma and its definetly better than it chapter 2 and donr forget that rose say hi there alot.
